They may look like clowns. They may act like clowns. But they are the most dangerous clowns you will ever come in contact with in Germany.
Your problem—and mine as well—is that you believe in fairness and you have a moral compass that prohibits you from carrying out acts of violence and reigns you in when you want to just lose your cool and throw a shovel full of fresh horseshit into the face of an AfD supporter.
Right?
And it’s precisely this moral compass and restraint that these clowns have eliminated from their sociopathic personalities. They have learned how to wear the clown makeup and let you laugh at them. Your laughter is their best disguise. It fools you into thinking you are better, that you can sweep them aside with your superior knowledge while you stand above them on your moral high ground.
Underneath all the face paint and the clowning, they are chortling, laughing maliciously, like that spooky voice in the tunnel of horrors at the fair. They know exactly how to get you because they make you deride them, and that derision angers their cohorts in the movement, gets them so riled up that they are open to something known as stochastic terrorism.
Stochastic terrorism is a form of political violence instigated by hostile public rhetoric directed at a group or an individual. Stochastic terrorism is accomplished with indirect, vague or coded language. The instigators of stochastic terrorism thus have plausible deniability for any associated violence. We have seen how the various terror groups, Al Qaeda and ISIS use this tactic and how Trump used it to goad the January 6th rioters into action.
Elections are coming to Germany in February. Disinformation is already being spread by the criminals who want a return to the rule of terror. Let me give you a small example of the news that is being distorted. Remember the horror of the Christmas market attack in Magdeburg? You do. It was horrible. Here is an article which appeared in The Boar, a publication from Warwick University, on January the 14th of this year.
The truth about the attacker is:
“As details about the attacker, Taleb al-Abdulmohsen, emerged, these initial assumptions began to crumble. Al-Abdulmohsen, a Saudi-born psychiatrist who had lived in Germany since 2006, was not only an ex-Muslim but an outspoken critic of Islam. His social media presence revealed deeply entrenched Islamophobic beliefs and consistent support for far-right political figures and conspiracy theories. He had praised the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, called Dutch anti-Islam figure Geert Wilders a hero, and expressed admiration for Elon Musk. Al-Abdulmohsen had spent years railing against what he termed the ‘Islamisation of Europe’ and had been vocal about his support for extremist anti-migrant positions. Yet, despite these revelations, much of the public and media narrative struggled or outright refused to acknowledge this profile.”
So, the man who drove that car into all those people just happened to have been born in Saudi Arabia. He had lived in Germany for almost 20 years. He is a psychiatrist. He hates Islam. And yet, the disinformation campaign from the right accuses him of being an Islamist terrorist. Actually, he is a rightwing AfD-supporting terrorist. That is the truth.
If you are a person who wants democracy to be the standard of life in Germany, then you have to make sure that you vote for a party that is in favor of democracy. The lies are being spread by all the social media, especially YouTube and X and Telegram. Even TikTok is a platform that spreads the disease.
The Christmas market attack in Magdeburg, Germany, was carried out by an aficionado of the AfD who just happened to be of Saudi origin. His murderous deed was also an example of stochastic terrorism, as his social media profile has shown, and it was set free by the AfD through their Islamophobic campaigns. But now the AfD is using only the labels SAUDI, MUSLIM, to spread disinformation about Muslims in Germany.

You know this. I know this. The leadership of the AfD knows this too. The difference between them and us is that they don’t care about the truth. They ignore it. In fact, they keep shouting out only the particular parts of the message that will rile up their horde of angry followers: SAUDI. MUSLIM. Those two words are already enough to make the man, who actually hated the religion and was a fan of Musk and the AfD, the embodiment of every Muslim in Germany.
Collective guilt
Collective guilt for a race or religion is what was used by the Nazis. They made it concrete when they passed a law, on September 1, 1941, mandating that all Jews in the Reich, six years of age or older, were to wear a badge which consisted of a yellow Star of David on a black field to be worn on the chest, with the word “Jew” inscribed inside the star in German or in the local language.
Does the AfD want every muslim to wear a crescent moon and a star on their clothing? Would it be OK to just have it on a baseball cap, like MAGA, except with a Green background?
What if we decided to push collective guilt on the AfD and Musk? How would that work? Is it a tactic your moral high ground compass would allow?
For instance, you could accuse the AfD and Musk of genocide in Ukraine, giving a political nod to the Russians who are killing the parents and then helping Russian pedophiles kidnap the children from occupied territories in Ukraine, selling them to Russian gangs, who enslave the children, force them to work as prostitutes, or sell them on further to serve as sex slaves for oligarchs similar to Musk.
Could you support a propaganda campaign like that without injuring your moral stand?
Steven Pinker, in his illuminating book The Sense of Style, writes: “More than three centuries ago, Baruch Spinoza pointed out that the human mind cannot suspend disbelief in the truth or falsity of a statement and leave it hanging in logical limbo awaiting a ‘true’ or ‘false’ tag to be hung on it. To hear or read a statement is to believe it, at least for a moment.” [pg. 172] So the constant bombardment of the information space, filling it with lies and disinformation from the rightwing authoritarians, is concerned only with you hearing or reading the statement, and then, just for a moment (if not longer) actually believing that it is true. Pinker continues: “For us to conclude that something is not the case, we must take the extra cognitive step of pinning the mental tag ‘false’ on a proposition. Any statement that is untagged is treated as if it is true.”
Because the information space is flooded with these “false” statements, it tends to overwhelm our ability to sort the messages and tag them. “As a result, when we have a lot on our on our minds, we can get confused about where the ‘false’ tag belongs, or can forget it entirely. In that case what is merely mentioned can become true.”
Why are we not actively filling the information space with what we want them to believe, whether truth or lie, whether true or false?
The Charlie Hebdo magazine in France suffered mass casualties because they were arrogant enough to assume that freedom of the press meant they could publish cartoons about Mohammed. If you publish damaging propaganda against the leaders of the AfD, accusing them of the worst crimes and sexual perversions, what could happen? Would they send a gang of hitmen to your offices to wreak vengeance in a blood feud?
The AfD doesn’t need to send armed groups directly, they can rely on our laws of defamation of character and start a lawsuit. And they know that the ace of spades which they keep up their sleeve is the threat of lone wolf attacks instigated through social media using stochastic terrorism tactics.
For instance, their call for the remigration of all the people who came to Germany seeking asylum has triggered a number of instances of fire-bombing of residences of asylum-seekers, the latest one in Buchholz in Lower Saxony. The murders carried out by groups such as the National Socialist Underground, a revival of the Nazi Einsatzgruppen, Schutzstaffel (SS) paramilitary death squads, are also a direct result of the stochastic terrorism tactic. The murder of Walter Lübke, a CDU politician who aligned himself against the AfD and its policies, was a crime carried out by a far-right fanatic—a not completely lone wolf—allied with the AfD. Now, the constant harping on how migrants are invading Germany and causing havoc among women and the job market is generating huge crowds of rightwing thugs itching for confrontation.
The AfD labels people migrants, though these people only seek to escape from death and destruction—much of it caused by the policies of eastern and western governments seeking minerals and strategic control of territory. The true description of people fleeing death and destruction is asylum-seekers.
The mostly uninformed masses of the brain-washed adherents to fascism probably don’t know much or care much about the true history of Germany. Or if they do know, they conveniently forget the fact that there are more than 50 million people of German heritage in the United States today. All of them were migrants seeking asylum. All of them left Germany during periods of war, periods of high unemployment, periods of religious persecution. They left because they were escaping death and destruction, the danger of being killed by war or famine or disease.
If the AfD are all collectively guilty of inciting terrorist acts, of genocidal murder, of desiring another great conflagration and the second annihilation of Germany, then we can get rid of them all without feeling guilty ourselves.
Right?
Why not start a campaign: AfD (Alle Fascisten Deportieren) Deport all Fascists? It would be fairly easy to deport them all. We have the names of all the people who have joined the rightwing parties. We have the photos of all the people who take part in their demonstrations. We can easily get information about their friends and colleagues and sympathizers. We have access to their social media accounts and their comments. It would be easy to make a list. It would be easy to cancel their citizenship and then directly deport them all to Russia. Once there, the Russians can choose the most muscular of them to fight in the meat assaults with the North Koreans and the luckless dupes from the Russian Far East.
Or, you/we can wait.
Once the horrorshow is actually in power and herding people into camps, throwing them out of helicopters into the Baltic Sea, sending them to a renovated Dachau, then your moral high ground will suddenly allow you to fight back with any means necessary.
Right?
You can join the resistance, the underground. You can take part in assassinations of fascist leaders. You are allowed to destroy the underpinnings of the oppressive system. You can legitimately become the terror.
Right?
Or are you obliged, like the proverbial Jesus, to allow yourself to be crucified on the cross of righteousness?
Perhaps you should rather be like the mythical Hercules, who strangled the snakes that were put in his crib before they could strangle him.
